Cash for Clunkers... Do You Qualify?

A new program called "Cash for Clunkers" is designed for the government to reimburse car companies that pay the consumer cash for vehicles that meet certain qualifications. The Senate has become AWOL over this new program and trying to force two billion into this new "program" after another billion has been spent. What's three billion to America anyways? After all, they claim this program has already been a huge success.

Certain standards are required in order to become a participant in the cash for clunkers program. First, the vehicle has to be on the government list (you can google this and find out if you qualify in your area). Car companies will give the consumer 4,500 dollars for a vehicle that meets the following recommendations: the vehicle is no older than 1984, can run and gets 18 mpg or more. Sounds like an excellent deal for us that needs the money but here is the government throwing handouts again. So consumers take a piece of the pie and see if you qualify for cash for clunkers.
